Koffee in Lviv
Size: 2.2m x 1.6m, Front side.
The name relates to Jerzy-Franciszek Kulczycki – citizen of the City of Lvov, who in XVII century introduced Western Europeans to the joy of drinking coffee. After the successful war, where John III Sobieski and his armies liberated Vienna from the Turks in 1683, Kulczycki took from the Turkish camp a whole warehouse of coffee and opened the first coffee restaurants in Europe.
The color called in Persia and Turkey «Kaveh» is hard to obtain and considered very beautiful. It creates very interesting contrast with gold ornament. We used two different shades of gold, in order to achieve better effect where the floral motifs reach the gold background.
