Ladies Sash KASZTELANKA (red of the castle walls / gold and silver)
Kasztelanka – was a title reserved for a daughter of Kasztelan (Count or lat. Castellanus) – who held the local office responsible for the defense and justice in the areas belonging to the castle or fortified settlement. Kasztelanka as a rule was brought up in affluent home, that was full of guests from far and near (mostly due to her father’s office). The vast library collected by her parents served as a foundation of her education. In her teen age she already knew how to manage the family manor and was well oriented in public affairs that her father was taking care of.
Total length of the sash is 258 cm and it is 12 cm wide in the front section. The sash should be worn with the wide part to the front, with the straps crossed at the back and tied on a side. In case of all sashes that we make, the ornaments are woven and double sided – copied from the original sashes that we find in the museums. This way they are the direct continuation of the traditional fabric design from the Golden Age.
